GAPS SEGORBE
It is an ideal spot, converted and improved for recreation, though not yet open to the public, failing to complete the works shortly. A new landmark at the gates of the Parque Natural de la Sierra Calderona. Laguna del Portillo, located at the end of Segorbe, will be a meeting point for lovers of scenic areas of the region of Alto Palancia.
Properly conditioned, by the pond, the field has been transformed as a spacious seating area and an ecological path between the pine forest rises to the highest point of the site, where it has located a viewpoint from where you spot a good part of the Sierra Calderona with more prominent peaks, stretching the pan towards the head of the region, covering the entire NE sector.
This lake has an area of 0.6 ha. and its maximum depth is estimated at 15 m.
Like the other lakes that have Segorbe, as de la Rosa, El Gabacho and the Rhone, which enriches the banks flora is represented by plants such as cattail, bulrush, the reed ... and trees such as pine.
This gap is maintained by the runoff that form in the rainy season. The cells originated because of the mining operations of extraction of clay, which took place during the second half of the twentieth century, material used for the tile industry.
