The Sierra Calderon is the more natural area near the city of Valencia and the populations of the metropolitan area. The Calderona alignment is part of the Iberian mountain. The Sierra has a NW-SE separating the basins of the rivers Palancia and Turia. The topography of the Sierra is comprised of rugged cliffs, props, caps and molas. The heights decrease from W to E as they reach the Mediterranean Sea, with its main summits Gorge (907 m.), Eagle Peak (878 m), Montmajor (892 m), Penyes Altes (825 m. ) and Rebalsadors (802 m) among others in this sector of the Sierra.
Stresses in the area of the rodeno Olocau Marines and their characteristic color Calderona forest. The region of Camp de Turia has interesting natural areas from the standpoint of cultural and botanical highlights the Castell del Real, the Iberian settlement of Llops dels Depth (Olocau), the Charterhouse of Portacoeli (Serra) and cork trees native extensions.
The trail of L'Olla and Marines to the farmhouse of L'Olla.
We leave from Marines on the C / We're on the path that leads to the water tank. The trail climbs up the shade to take to reach the logging road that connects Marines to L'Olla. The route runs through a mixed area of agriculture and cork. We passed the well of Panizares and came to the Masia de L'Olla. At the foot of the leaves a trail that descends to the gardens and into the ravine. We forded the ravine and climb down the path among olive groves and pine forest. The trail connects with a forest path that leads us to a point where we left the track to make the right a path that runs through the shade. We follow this path that passes through the old Power Velata quickly ascending through the forest to the Collado del Castell del Real. From this hill you can climb in 10 minutes to Castell and spotting a good overview of the Calderona. We took the trail that descends to the path of Olocau sports through the Fountain of Carrasco. In Avenida de la Font del Frare turn left to take the track leading to the recreation area Arquet l'. From l'Arquet take the track which rises and passes through the Font del Frare. We crossed the Collado del Sentig keeping track of the way it descends and leads to a second crossroads. We follow the left that leads to the Canyarisso aljub. In aljub left the forest path and climbed a trail that goes up the gorge until you reach a hill. Near the trail is the Font dels Pardalets. The trail ascends through ancient parts of terraces and pine forests to reach the hill of La Calera. From this hill we have a clear view of Gorgo, the Penyes Altes, the Castell del Real, The Moratillas and Rebalsadors. The path continues through a mixed area of pine forest and undergrowth to ascend the hill of the Mine. We had a water raft and go down a forest path that brings us closer to the source of Tristan.
PRV8 source in the European path connects with the GR10 long-distance (step Gátova-Serra). From the Source to the Tristan alberque are only 100 m. to access the refuge, located in an ideal location for excursions and hiking in the Calderona.
The hostel is an old but Tristan located between Gorgo and property Montmajor Conselleria de Medi Ambient and transferred to the Hiking Center of Valencia as Hostel and Nature Classroom.
